The Department of Public Safety and our Police Department has long understood the importance of community policing throughout the City of Saratoga Springs. Community policing is a policing strategy and philosophy based on the notion that community interaction and support can help control crime, with community members helping to identify suspects, detain vandals and bring problems to the attention of police. Saratoga Springs has enjoyed a reputation as a safe city in part due to the level of cooperation that exists between our citizens, business owners, and the police department.
