Communications for the Saratoga Springs Police Department is handled by City of Saratoga Springs Public Safety Dispatchers.  The dispatch center is manned 24 hours a day by civilian dispatchers and dispatches for both the police and fire departments, as well as answer all 911 and administrative telephone lines. 

Currently, the dispatch center is staffed by 10 full time civilian dispatchers who work eight hour shifts, midnight - 8am, 8am - 4 pm, and 4pm - midnight.  Minimum staffing is two dispatchers, except for Monday - Friday from 8am - 4pm, when minimum staffing is three dispatchers.  During the racing season, as well as during special events throughout the year, staffing in the dispatch center increases to handle the addition volume in activity.
