Assistant Chief Gregory Veitch

  Assistant Chief Veitch began his policing career with the Burlington, VT police department as a police officer in 1994. He was hired by the Saratoga Springs Police Department in August of 1995 and spent six years as a patrolman before being promoted to Investigator in 2001. He was assigned to the narcotics unit for five years before being promoted to sergeant in 2006. He was promoted again in 2007 to Assistant Chief and assigned as the commanding officer of the Investigations Division.

  Lt. Veitch has received a number of professional awards including being named Officer of the Year in 1997 and received a New York State Assembly Certificate of Merit in 1998. In 2006 the National Criminal Enfrocement Association awarded then Inv. Veitch their award for the largest street level heroin seizure for that year.

  In 2008 Lt. Veitch graduated from both the DEA Drug Unit Commanders Academy, session 61 and the FBI National Academy, session 235. Lt. Veitch holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Plattsburgh State University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Leadership from Plattsburgh State. He lives in the City of saratoga Springs with his wife Jennifer and their five children.

Captain Michael Chowske

   Captain Chowske was appointed to the department on April 12, 1980 and began walking the Broadway beat on the 12-8 shift until tranferring to the 4-12 sift in October of 1984.

   In 1989, Capt. Chowske transferred to the Traffic Safety Unit. As a member of the TSU, he was involved in Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Accident Reconstruction and Selective Vehicle and Traffic enforcement. He worked closely with the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee on several initiatives including Buckle Up NY, Operation Safe Stop, Operation Life Saver and Aggressive Driving Enforcement. Capt. Chowske had an opportunity to speak at driver's education classes regarding rules of the road and to elementary school children about the dangers of being near Rail Road property.

  In September of 1999, Capt. Chowske began work on instituting the department's first Mounted Patrol Unit and in July of 2000 he was the first mounted officer on patrol. Since then the unit has grown to two horses and three officers. Capt. Chowske is certified as a Mounted Police Officer Instructor.

  In his current position, Captain Chowske oversees day-to-day operations of both the Patrol and Traffic Divisions. He is also responsible to manage the many special events that occur in the city and meets regularly with community leaders and event organizers to ensure the safety of both participants as well as the public.

Lieutenant John Catone

  Lt. Catone is a 24-year veteran of the department having been permanently appointed on November 14, 1987.

  Lt. Catone began his career as a patrol officer primarily assigned to the midnight shift and held that position until his promotion to Investigator in October 1999. As an investigator, he was assigned to both the department's Juvenile Aid Unit and the Criminal Investigations Unit.

  He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2006. As Sergeant, Catone worked in various capacities including duties as a Patrol Division Sergeant, Administrative Sergeant, Juvenile Aid Sergeant and most recently as the Criminal Investigations/Special Investigations Sergeant. It is in the latter capacity that he was responsible to oversee the successful investigations of numerous major cases.

Robert Jillson

  Lt. Jillson began his law enforcement career with the Saratoga County Sheriff Department in 1990. While employed by the Sheriff Deartment, he was assigned to road patrol duties and was also one of the agency's K9 handlers.

  He was appointed full-time to the Saratoga Springs Police Department on June 19, 1998 as a member of the patrol division. In September 2000, Lt. Jillson transferred to and was promoted to the position of Investigator within the Juvenile Aid Unit. He performed these duties until transferring to the Special Investigations Unit in 2005. While a member of that unit, then-Investigator Jillson worked with his colleagues to combat illegal drug activity in Saratoga Springs. Jillson was promoted to Patrol Division Sergeant in October 2006 and held that position until his February 2009 promotion to his current position.

  In addition to his duties as the Second Shift Patrol Commander, Lt. Jillson oversees the department's community policing efforts and neighborhood watch programs. He also manages a newly created proactive effort to enforce domestic violence related issues as part of a grant received from the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services "Domestic Violence Home Visit Intitiative.

Sean Briscoe

  Lieutenant Briscoe began his career with our Department in 1995. While assigned to the patrol division, he was assigned as a Field Training Officer, responsible for the post-academy training of new officers.

  In February 2003, Officer Briscoe requested assignment to a vacancy in the Department's Community Policing Unit. He worked evenings in the City's west side neighborhoods, addressing the conditions that give rise to crime and educating the community about crime prevention. During this time he was also one of the first four patrolman certified as Child Passenger Occupant Safety inspectors, working with the community to ensure their children's safety.

  In May 2004, Officer Briscoe was again reassigned to a vacancy in the Traffic Safety Unit. He and two other patrolmen were responsible for investigating all serious traffic collisions, commercial vehicle enforcement and inspections, summer traffic control at and around the Saratoga Race Course, and year-round traffic enforcement.

  Officer Briscoe was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in February 2007. Sergeant Briscoe was responsible for the oversight of patrolman on his shift, and began working on the Department's Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. Sergeant Briscoe was promoted to his current rank of Lieutenent in December 2009 and commands the third shift in the patrol division.

  Lieutenant Briscoe is also the coordinator of the department's Accreditation Program, oversees the Department's holdind cells and is the agency coordinator for the Department's NYSPIN/eJustice computerized records systems.

Linda Quattrini

  Lt. Quattrini received her full-time appointment to the department on September 18, 1982. She was assigned as a patrol officer, primarily on the third shift (4p-12a) until her promotion to the rank of Sergeant. In addition to her duties as a road patrol sergeant, Quattrini assumed duties as the department's warrant control officer.

  On February 3, 2007, she became the first female Lieutenant in the department's 120 year history. Today, she continues to hold that rank and commands patrol division's first (12a-8a) shift.
