How can I pay my parking ticket?    

Parking tickets can be paid by mail (see ticket instructions), in person at the Department of Public Safety, at 474 Broadway, Floor 2 in City Hall, or on line by credit card (VISA AND MASTERCARD ONLY).  To pay a parking ticket on line, use this link: PARKING TICKET SITESAFE VERIFY and click on the link to the left that says "PAY PARKING TICKET".           

What is the city noise ordinance?

The definition of specific acts deemed unreasonable noise can be found in PART II, GENERAL LEGISLATION, Chapter § 148-4 of the Code of the City of Saratoga Springs.

What is the city curfew?

The definition the curfew can be found in PART II, GENERAL LEGISLATION, Chapter § 96-1 of the Code of the City of Saratoga Springs.

Is possession of an open alcoholic beverage legal in public outdoor areas?

Open containers of alcoholic beverages are generally illegal in certain public areas of the city.  More information about this law can be found in PART II, GENERAL LEGISLATION, Chapter 61: ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES the Code of the City of Saratoga Springs.

Where can I find information about child safety seats?   

For information about NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law regarding child safety seats, as well as general information, refer to the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee

Can I have my child safety seat inspected for proper installation?       

Yes.  The Police Department does free inspections of child safety seats on the third Saturday of every month by appointment.  To schedule an inspection by our certified child safety seat staff in the Traffic Safety Unit, contact Sergeant Thomas Mitchell Jr. at 518-584-1800 ext. 403 during business hours, or send him an eMail by clicking on his name.

How do I obtain a copy of a police report?

A police report request form can be downloaded from this website.  After completing the form, you can mail it to the police department or drop it off in person.  Please allow ample time for the request to be fulfilled. 

How do I get fingerprints taken?   Is there a fee?       

Fingerprinting is a service offered at the police department.  Civilian fingerprinting is done by our Identification Officer by appointment only.  Appointments can be made Monday - Friday 7:30a.m. - 3:00p.m.  You are required to supply your own fingerprint cards unless otherwise informed.  Photo identification is required and the fee is $10.00 per person. 

Operation Safe Child ID Program                               

Yes, the Saratoga Springs Police Department, in partnership with the NYS DCJS, the Saratoga County District Attorney, and the Saratoga Springs City School District offers free Child Safety ID's to all Saratoga County residents less than eighteen years of age.  For further information about Operation Safe Child link to the DCJS OPERATION SAFE CHILD Web.  For local area events, go to our web page on Community Services; OPERATION SAFE CHILD, or call our Juvenile Aid Unit weekdays at 518-584-1800 and ask to speak with the duty Juvenile Aid Unit Investigator.

Do you offer tours of your facility?

Tours of the police department can be scheduled through the Juvenile Aid Unit by contacting Sgt. John Catone.  Tours are scheduled for Monday - Friday only during the business day.
