Criminal Investigations Unit
The Criminal Investigation Unit is comprised of Investigators whose primary responsibilities include:
• Investigation of all serious felony offenses;
• Investigation of crimes where the victim has received serious physical injury that may result in death;
• Investigation of unexplained or suspicious deaths;
• Investigation of any offense and/or incident where a coordinated or extensive investigation is necessary or which may be beyond the capabilities of the Patrol Division;
• Crime scene processing for preservation, documentation and collection of evidence at the scene of a crime; and
• Control and management of the evidence and property room.
